Preface to the Book
I was surprised when I first began to write poetry. I had no interest in the genre. I am not the writer in the family, my husband Tod is. About 6 months after I was born again in the Lord, I began writing poems while reading daily bible chapters. Then I started to awaken around 3am with a strong desire to write rhyming lines. This has continued for years. I make sure to have my lighted pen and a supply of blank index cards on my nightstand.
Not too long ago, the Holy Spirit directed me to go through the stacks of poem cards and assemble them for publishing. This is my first book of poetry.
The topic of my poetry is God and his relationship with us. The poems are a gift from the Lord to share with others.
Paul states in Ephesians 4:12 the gifts we receive from God are, “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
I chose poems that were uplifting, or cause one to stop and think. Many poems are from my personal experience, my own worship lyrics and prayers, or experiences that the Spirit felt were important for someone reading this book to hear. Quite a few poems were inspired by bible passages, especially from the letters of Paul.
All poems are four line rhyming poems called a quatrain. One quatrain per page.
To life everlasting. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

More Poems From the Book
We are created beings
by God’s wondrous hands
he didn’t make us robots
he has definite plans
Keep your eye on the prize
that would be Jesus
no matter how life
tries to defeat us
Hold fast your wounded heart
don’t let it become more frayed
dip it into the Lord’s well
pull it out fully remade
The end reveals the crimes of men
evil and darkness Satan’s good friends
we are with Jesus faithful and true
the harvest is coming whose fruit are you
Jesus healed many things in me
much more than I asked
he makes each day more beautiful
freed me from my past
