The Seekers Prayer from Colossians to Recite

Paul prayed ceaselessly for those who truly appreciate the incredible riches and grace God gives those who have belief, love, and faith in Jesus Christ, in his letter to the Colossians 1:9-22. It is an incredibly powerful prayer for seekers.

Paul first itemizes the wondrous blessings Christ Jesus has promised us. Next, the amazing characteristics of who Christ truly is. Then finishes with a description of our glorious redemption for our faithful patience in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Presented in first person for you to recite and pray back to Father God. Make it part of your daily communion with the Lord. Let us pray…

Oh heavenly Father, fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

That by your will I walk worthily and pleasing to the Lord; being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.

Oh Father, strengthen me in all patience and long suffering with joyfulness, according to the Lord’s glorious power.

I thank you Father for making me a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in light.

For you have delivered me from the power of darkness.

You have transformed me back into the kingdom of your dear Son.

Your dear Son, Lord Jesus, in whom I have redemption through his blood; in whom I have the forgiveness of sins.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.

By him all things were created that are in heaven and in earth; both visible and invisible; whether thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers.

All things were created by your dear Son, Father, and for him.

He is before all things and by him all things consist.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the body, the church.

He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead.

He is preeminent and in all things.

It pleased you Father that in him should all fullness dwell.

Having made peace between God and man through the blood of his cross;

Lord Jesus reconciled all things unto himself; whether of earth, or of heaven.

And because of my faith and enduring patience, he will present me holy, without blemish and blameless in his sight.

I thank you, dear Father. In the name of Jesus, Amen. — vkw
