I had a dream where I was searching for expensive antique lamps, candlestick-style. I went to a number of places but didn’t find what I was looking for. I considered giving up the search, until I found a secluded specialty shop. I entered and the people inside were having serious discussions about lamps. I watched but did not participate, listening with interest.
The Meeting
Suddenly, I was singled out. Summoned to a back room and brought into the presence of an ancient looking old man. He was short with disheveled white and gray hair, stubbly beard, age spots on his light facial skin and on his bony hands. He wore a crumpled and wrinkled light colored garment.
He looked up, as if he wanted to speak to me. I came closer and leaned down towards him. He looked at me with bright sparkling blue eyes, gave me a big smile, and said, “You are beautiful.”
I pulled back, surprised. Astonished at such an unexpected statement. I don’t think anybody has ever said “you are beautiful” so directly to my face before with that much intention. It woke me up. It was 4:07am.
The Flame
I laid there thinking about these candlestick lamps. I never really saw one in my dream but I got the urge to draw one. I grabbed my pencil and pad next to the bed and sketched one. Hmmm, nothing fancy. It looked like a typical old-time hand-held candlestick lamp with a finger hole and a place for one candle. A trough surrounded the bottom to catch the dripping wax. I drew a flame above the candlestick.
Then the Holy Spirit came over me and I wrote: “Each one of us is like a lamp to the Lord, filled with the oil of his spirit, the candle. When we are lit, we are beautiful to him. We not only reflect him back to himself, like the moon does to the sun; we too are light, not just reflectors or light holders. We ourselves are the flame!”
You are Beautiful
I see this dream as an inspiration for all God’s children. God told Abraham that his seed, his children, shall be like the multitudes of stars in the heavens in Genesis 15:5 and 22:17.
These “children” appeared to father Abraham as points of light in the sky looking back towards him, on earth. Abraham and his children are analogous to a future time when Jesus presents all of us in heaven to his Father (1 Corinthians 15:24, 28). Father God will look out and see the multitude of all his children looking back at him. And in that moment, he’s telling each and every one of us, “you are beautiful.” Because in his sight, to his eyes, we are! — vkw
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. — Genesis 5:15
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; — Genesis 22:17
Then comes the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. — 1 Corinthians 15:24
And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. — 1 Corinthians 15:28
Dream I had May 23, 2023, 4:07am. The HS came over me and I wrote: Each one of us is like a lamp to the Lord, filled with the oil of his spirit, the candle. When we are lit, we are beautiful to him. We not only reflect him back to himself, like the moon does to the sun. We too are light, not just reflectors or light holders. We ourselves are the flame!
